SALARY:  $95,955.39                      NUMBER OF POSITIONS:  ONE (1)

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Under the general supervision of the Manager of Licensing and Financial Evaluation, supervises and/or undertakes the statutory, regulatory, operational and administrative functions of financial evaluation. Supervises and/or performs the preparation of highly technical analyses and/or reports that evaluate the financial condition, operating performance and financial projections of casino licensees and related companies and economic conditions under the Casino Control Act (“Act”) Section 82e (undue economic concentration), Section 84 (financial stability), and Section 87 (casino license applicants). Supervises and/or performs the certification and review of casino parking fee revenue in accordance with Section 173.5 of the Act. Supervises and/or performs the evaluation, summarization, and maintenance of financial information.  Facilitates the Commission’s financial reporting responsibilities and supervises and/or performs reviews of casino parking fee revenue. Researches complex economic/financial matters of major significance and provides expert analyses, technical advice, recommendations and/or opinions to support agency decision-making and/or the development of public policy. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or finance, including or supplemented by a minimum of 21 credit hours in any combination of accounting, statistics, finance, or economics subjects.

Note: No education substitution. Degrees and/or transcripts are required of candidates selected for interviews and, if issued by a college or university outside of the United States, must include an evaluation for accreditation by a reputable evaluation service acceptable to the Commission at the applicant’s expense.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of four (4) years of professional accounting, financial analysis or auditing experience, one year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity. Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications.  Proficiency in the use of other software applications and Internet research may be required.  CPA preferred.

Substitution: Possession of a valid Certified Public Accountant license issued by the NJ State Board of Accountancy and/or a master’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration may be substituted for one year of the required non-supervisory experience.
